The Mama Thresl is based on the wonderful attempt to bring all the modern, young hotel concepts you see in big cities to the countryside: the lobby as the center of life with an open kitchen, community tables, lounge areas and – in this case – a DJ desk. The architecture supports the concept because everything is open up to the roof – including a climbing wall that reaches up to the top floor. The rooms are accessible via balustrades. The open architecture carries the concept well – lots of wood, open showers, some with a sauna or hot-tub on the balcony and many great details: the TV, which disappears into a sliding wooden wall, the natural stone pool or the many sheepskins, which give the simple design its cozy touch. Opposite is the Asitzbahn – where downhill fans can dive down from the mountain by bike.
Under the roof there is a lounge area with small niches that invite you to relax, and a wall full of crystals, simply wonderful. Part of the area can be rented as a group for barbecue fans – with catering from the restaurant. The restaurant is open to the public, burgers, tarte flambée and steaks are on the menu and there is a barbecue once a week. Bringing this concept to the region was courageous and has proved its worth.
